SafeUT Awareness Days February 22 & 23

In light of the recent events in Florida and other tragedies that have happened around the country, Nebo School District is teaming up with KSL on February 22, 2018, as we Stand Up for a Safe Utah. Utah has a very powerful resource and that is the SafeUT app.  As you all know, the SafeUT app provides real-time crisis intervention and has been proven to save lives and stopped planned school attacks.

Kindness Week

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

Legacy has been focusing on Kindness this week. Our Principal, Mrs. Boothe, has shared children’s story books about kindness such as I Love You Stinky Face and In My Heart; we painted wooden frames with heart openings and chose a kindness quote to display; we enjoyed some food fun by making chocolate suckers with melting chocolate and baked and decorated sugar cookies. Saturday is National Random Acts of Kindness Day and we encourage everyone to do nice things for others; however, doing random acts of kindness is something that can be done every day of the year!

Nebo School District is always trying to improve communication and responsiveness to our stakeholders. To that end, we invite students, parents and teachers to give feedback on teachers and administrators in Nebo District schools.  A link to the Nebo Stakeholder Survey 2017-2018 will be found on the Nebo home page at www.nebo.edu beginning Wednesday, February 7 and remaining open until Wednesday, February 21, 2018, where Nebo District stakeholders will be able to share their thoughts and experiences.

Guest Speaker

Ann Anderson stopped by Legacy yesterday. She is the Director of Secondary Education for Nebo School District. She told of attending a ballet performance that had a big impact on her. She hadn't been very enthusiastic about going out that night, but the performance called "The Uncommon Life" touched her. The message she learned was, many people may achieve some level of success, but that is not the same as leading a SIGNIFICANT life! She challenged us to look for ways to be SIGNIFICANT in the lives of others. Thanks for the message and encouragement, Ann.

Santa Comes to Visit

Santa’s visit culminated a morning full of fun activities! It started off with waffles, berries, scrambled eggs and a hot cocoa bar for everyone. Next, Mrs. Boothe shared some Christmas finger plays and jingle bell shakers for the kids to enjoy while we sang Jingle Bells. She also read a hilarious Christmas story called Santa’s Underwear. After that, the kids got to chase red and green bouncy balls down the hall and back.

She and her husband Gary have 4 boys and 8 grandchildren.

Her hobbies and interests include: camping; hiking; riding her 4-wheeler (the more technical the better!); running (she’s a Half Marathon runner); riding her bicycle; going rock hounding and then making wire wrapped jewelry out of the rocks she finds; reading; and pretty much anything outdoors.
