We have a tradition of tying quilts each November to donate to a local shelter. Tying quilts is a great group project; it goes quickly with many hands working together. It takes very little skill or experience and they make lovely warm covers. Four were set up in our main hall, with supplies for a fifth ready and waiting for some frames to free up. Each will remain in the hall so students can add a few stitches as they have free time until all the quilts are finished. Doing a service for someone else helps us gain perspective about our own challenges. It was fun to work together and rewarding to give back to the community.
