Halloween Fun

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

We had a small Halloween celebration today since the holiday is on the weekend. The students listened to a short presentation about literacy tips for children. Then we invited the children from childcare to join us and we learned a rhyming story called Five Little Pumpkins.  Following story time was the much-awaited Trick-or-Treating through the hall to each classroom.

Field Trip: Pumpkin Patch

Everyone loves a field trip! We look forward to our annual visit to the local pumpkin patch.  Children really benefit when exposed to new experiences. This outing includes a petting zoo, playing in the shelled feed corn pit, slides, mazes, hayrides and taking a pumpkin home. There are so many sensory opportunities: the texture of animal fur, the dryness of the cornstalks and hay, and the smooth vegetables.

Thursday, October 7, 2021 3:00 – 6:00p.m.  Legacy provides unique opportunities during Parent-Teacher Conference time. Beyond communicating progress, grades and missing assignments, students are able to use the time as an intervention period to get help making up unfinished work. In addition to this assistance, students that attend the conferences are able to reverse three unexcused absences.
