November 15, 2017 is National Education Support Professionals Day and honors all secretaries, classroom aides, cafeteria workers, maintenance workers, bus drivers and the others that help and do their part in making public schools great for every child so that they can be safe, learn, grow and achieve. Mrs. Boothe recognized our secretaries, child care managers, and maintenance staff with a festive gift basket.

Mindy is one of our Child Care Managers and has 35 years of experience in child care. She ran a daycare in her home for 20 years and has worked in Nebo District for 14 years.
Mindy’s been married 32 years, has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys baking, reading, camping and yard work, but what she loves most of all is spending time with her family. Her advice to her children: “Life is what you make it. You can choose to be happy no matter what.”
The festivities began with a photo area (courtesy of Sharon Hales) provided for our students to have their pictures taken with their children. Our guest photographer, Rachel Graff, donated her time to photograph everyone. Then everyone posed for a group photo. Our next activity was story time with Mrs. Boothe. She read several short Halloween stories interspersed with literacy tips for children. Following story time was the much-awaited Trick-or-Treating through the hall to each classroom. The children were encouraged to thank each person who gave them a treat. Mrs.
Each day of Red Ribbon Week, our front office secretaries delivered adorable handouts with Drug-Free inspirational messages.
Monday – Reese’s Pieces: “Love you to pieces! Stay drug free!”
Tuesday – Key: “Drug Free is the Key!”
Wednesday – Orange Crush: “Don’t let drugs CRUSH your dreams!”
Thursday – Popcorn: “Don’t be a ‘pothead’; Eat popcorn instead!”
Friday – Socks: “Sock it to drugs!”

Take a look at the posters adorning our hall to remind us to be Drug Free!
Yesterday was a beautiful fall day for a field trip. Students and staff of Legacy School enjoyed visiting Jaker's Pumpkin Patch. Some of our favorites were the petting zoo, hayrides and especially the slide into shelled feed corn! Each child was able to choose a pumpkin to take home. Thanks Jaker's and Mrs. Boothe!
Legacy students have the opportunity to participate in holiday activities. This month our students made Halloween treats. Everyone gobbled them right up! Thanks to Sharon Hales and Cindy Thatcher for organizing the activity.
