Over the summer, our day-care playground received TWO much appreciated canopies to provide shade for the kiddos when they go outside to play. Big thanks to Matt Gledhill and Mike Anderson of Nebo School District Operations Department for making it happen!

Discover the Power Within

Superintendent Nielsen presented the 2019-2020 theme for the school district, “Discover the Power Within.” He shared some thoughts from the book, The Resilience Breakthrough, by Christian Moore. The author is “convinced that each of us has a power hidden within, something that can get us through any kind of adversity. That power is resilience.” Here are four types: Relational, Street, Resource, and Rock Bottom Resilience

Mrs. Boothe has been reading the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom with our students. Appropriately, Tuesday afternoon, the school met to watch the film together. Wednesday, we enjoyed homemade taco soup, bread and cookies. Thursday we celebrated the hard work of our students as Fourth Term Awards were announced. After awards, yearbooks were distributed. Way to finish strong Crusaders!

Hope Prom

The Hope Prom was the culminating event of our focus on HOPE. Students had opportunities to discuss Hope, read books about Hope, listen to guest speakers about Hope, and participate in activities to generate Hope. Hope Prom was held Friday, May 17th. Everyone pitched in to transform our hall for dining and dancing. It was exciting to see everyone dressed up, socializing together and dancing the night away. “Everything that is done in this world is done by hope.” Martin Luther

Table Setting Contest

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

Several of our faculty members have fond memories of participating in the ZCMI Table Setting Contest when they were in high school and decided to provide a similar opportunity for our student body. The first questions to address were, “Why participate?” or “What does it matter if I know how to set a table properly?” The competition is a fun way to express originality and creativity, to learn the rules how to set a table, to gain skills for entertaining, and to make guests feel welcome and honored.
