The Magic of Learning Something New

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

There is a thrill in trying something new and finding success with very little effort! Such was the case Wednesday when Mrs. Boothe introduced making homemade play dough. Students enjoyed the process of making play dough from scratch and kneading in different food coloring dyes. They were amazed how quickly it came together and were excited to show their creations to their families! Way to strengthen those neural pathways, Crusaders!

Why Labor Day is Important

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

Many of us look forward to a quick get away on Labor Day after a hectic school start and while the weather is still warm and comfortable.

Labor Day is an annual tribute to the contributions of workers towards the well-being and strength of our country. Celebration of Labor Day was conceived by members of the labor movement in the 1880s and later Congress passed an act making the first Monday of September the legal holiday.

We celebrate workers on Labor Day, but the labor movement allows us to experience the following benefits and rights every day:

The Magic of Learning

Submitted by jane.wilkins on

Our theme for the 2020-2021 school year is “The Magic of Learning.”

Learning something new . . .

  • changes the chemistry of your brain
  • increases your learning speed
  • helps you make connections between skill areas
  • fights boredom
  • makes you a more interesting person
  • helps you adapt better to change
  • helps you stave off dementia
  • is FUN!

Look forward to what you are going to learn tomorrow. Somethings we may like, some not as much, but remember it is exercise for your brain.
