Everyone loves a field trip! We look forward to our annual visit to the local pumpkin patch.  Children really benefit when exposed to new experiences. This outing includes a petting zoo, playing in the shelled feed corn pit, slides, mazes, hayrides and taking a pumpkin home. There are so many sensory opportunities: the texture of animal fur, the dryness of the cornstalks and hay, and the smooth vegetables.

Nebo’s Fall Break is this week, October 14-15, 2021. We hope you can get outside and enjoy this fall weather and festive activities.

Introducing the newest member of Legacy School’s faculty - Nick Herold! Mr. Herold is our CTE and business teacher.  He has taught in the Nebo School District for three years, teaching 9th-12th grades.  Some of the classes he has taught include Financial Literacy, Digital Business Applications and Business Communications. Thursday, October 7, 2021 3:00 – 6:00p.m.  Legacy provides unique opportunities during Parent-Teacher Conference time. Beyond communicating progress, grades and missing assignments, students are able to use the time as an intervention period to get help making up unfinished work. In addition to this assistance, students that attend the conferences are able to reverse three unexcused absences.

We are so lucky to have fabulous custodians at our school. It is hard work to keep our facilities spotless and sanitary. Here’s a shout-out to the people who put in hours of effort to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment – thanks Tami, Sue, Jessica, Robert and Prince!

Governor Spencer Cox declared September as Adult and Family Literacy Awareness Month in Utah.  September 19-25 also marks the annual Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, hosted by the National Coalition for Literacy. This week exists to remind us all that reading, writing, and basic math remain an elusive target for 43 million adults nationwide, including 14.5 percent of adults in Utah.

Because of the high demand of the Nebo Love and Logic classes, Nebo School District in partnership with Spanish Fork City are providing more opportunities for our Nebo parents to participate in another virtual Love and Logic Parenting Workshop.

No school for students on Monday, September 20, 2021. Teachers will be engaged in professional development.
