We have a tradition of tying quilts each fall to donate to a local shelter. Tying quilts is a great group project; it goes quickly with many hands working together. It takes very little skill or experience and they make lovely warm covers. Several were set up in our main hall and remained for a few days so students could add a few stitches as they had free time until all the quilts were finished. Doing a service for someone else helps us gain perspective about our own challenges. It was fun to work together and rewarding to give back to the community.
