Excitement was in the air May 8th as Legacy’s first annual cooking competition arrived. Students were able to create teams of 4-5 members and planned a meal using a chicken breast. They were given one hour of prep time and were judged on eye appeal, uniqueness, color and texture, aroma and taste, temperature, degree of difficulty, and over-all presentation. The four distinguished judges were Cara Puckett, Susan Boothe, Cindy Thatcher, and Mindy Davies. The judges remarked that all the results were delicious! The winning team consisted of Ashley J., Judy E., Roxanna G. and Viridiana P. They made tasty Pechugas Empanizadas. Other teams made Alfredo and bowtie pasta with chicken, Tostadas de Tinga, and Valentina chicken served with corn-on-the-cob and salad. All participants received a prize, but the winning team each received electric hand mixers. Congratulations on a job well done!
