Mrs. Boothe has been leading an enrichment activity on Wednesday afternoons teaching our students how to read music and play the piano. Most students had no previous musical training. The first week they began learning about octaves and note values. The second week they were introduced to the Treble Clef and Base Clef, time signatures and staff. Students were paired up on electronic keyboards. Each was given time to practice and was able to play simple melodies such as, Ode to Joy or Good King Wenceslas, before they left. Mrs. Boothe said, “I’m proud of them.”
