We had the opportunity to hear from the Shelter Manager at The Center for Women and Children in Crisis, Laurie Loader, and present her with a donation of 22 quilts made by Legacy students. She explained the purpose of the shelter is to serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through support, education, safety and hope. Domestic violence knows no boundaries and can happen to anyone at any age. Laurie explained several important concepts: the Cycle of Violence; the Power and Control Wheel; and the Equality Wheel.
